3d Printing

3D Printing

Bioceramic implants and scaffolds can be created from a computer aided design file for bone tissue engineering using Merz Biomaterials’ hydroxyapatite.

Merz manufactured hydroxyapatite is an ideal bioresorbable material for use in 3D printing applications. The ability to control the physical properties of the hydroxyapatite particles during manufacturing ensures that the reabsorption rate of the particles results in a consistent and reliable reabsorption. The ability to provide sized hydroxyapatite particles ensures that your use of the material in 3D printed applications results in consistent and reliable material delivery.

Medical Dental

Medical Dental Applications

Our medical grade hydroxyapatite can be used in the manufacture of bone void fillers, grafts, bone powder dental implants and other dental applications.

Implant Coatings

Implant Coatings

Merz HA material has been used for plasma coating purposes for use in orthopedics and other industries to provide better cohesion of the implant to bone. Variations to the material can be incorporated to provide you with the best result for the application.

Bone Void Filler

Bone Void Filler and Fixation products

Our high purity*, medical grade, fully synthetic calcium hydroxyapatite material is used as a scaffold for defects in the bone when donor bone is unavailable, helping to generate the patient’s own natural bone in the defect area. Resorbable fixations such as bone screws and anchors are also manufactured with our CaHA.

*High Purity meets or exceeds the ASTM F1185-03 standard for implant grade of 95% pure.
Injectable Implants

Injectable Implants

Our hydroxyapatite is used in injectable implants for hard and soft tissue filling applications, coatings, 3D printed mesh, and other medical and dental applications. We can develop and customize the particles manufactured to suit your specific needs.

Bioceramics

Bioceramics

The pure calcium hydroxyapatite that we produce is an excellent choice for many applications requiring the use of a bioceramic. It provides a very biocompatible material that is generally recognized as safe for medical products and procedures.
